It is with great regret & a heavy heart that I am closing Romp-n-Roll Music for Kids. My health has always been a challenge that I’ve worked around. In May of 2013 I started to have unexplained seizures. This along with the inability to drive to work because of them, as well as the severe fatigue that follows an event has prompted this hard decision. I must clarify that the seizures are not life threatening. I’m not going anywhere. To an adult they are kind of scary to watch. To a small child they could be terrifying.
I have missed teaching my class this last few months & I can’t image what life is going to be like not teaching your kids music. I love seeing the differences in their little faces as they grow from week to week. Seeing your kids in the stores of Salem & observing the confused looks on their faces because they think I live at Romp-n-Roll is priceless lol. And of course when they do their “Bum Bum’s” (Tonal Patterns) in the middle of the store brings a smile to my day. It brings me great joy when I’m invited to older students who have aged out of my program & have continued in music either by joining Choir or playing an instrument in a Band or join an Acting group. I get to see them preform at a concert, a play, or a recital & it gives weight & purpose to what I do. It has been a true honor that you,” the parents” shared your most prized possession with me for the last 11 years. The hundreds of children that played my guitar & danced with me… It was the most fun & silly time I have ever had …… Thank you.
