3 Storage Ideas For Your RV

Blog

Having an RV will let you go out and explore the world at your own pace because you aren't tied to a hotel or even a schedule. You are taking your base of operations with you wherever you go. It can be a great thing to take camping, but you can run into some problems when you aren't using it. The biggest problem is how you are going to store it. Even a small RV takes up a lot of space. There are several ways that you can store your RV when you aren't driving it around.

Driveway

One option is to store it in your driveway. That would mean that you have to have a wider driveway because you want to have space to park the car or cars you will use daily. If you have space, you can have a pad poured beside your driveway or your garage so that you can store your RV on that spot. That will free up your driveway for your cars. If you are going to store the RV on your property, you will need to make sure that you don't have to worry about any HOA rules about storing vehicles.

Shed

If you have space, you may want to consider getting a shed or other outbuilding to store your RV in. If you are going to do this, you need to make sure that you have enough space to park the RV in, get in and out of the vehicle, and close the door. You will also want to make sure that you have easy driving access to the shed. That means you will need quite a bit of space for the shed.

Offsite Storage

A third option is to find someplace where you can store your RV offsite. There are various options for this. One is that you can find a self-storage facility that will allow vehicles. If you use this option, you will have to check out what their rules are when it comes to storage. For example, you may have to drain many of the fluids from the car so that there is a reduced fire risk. Some dealerships also offer storage options, so if you bought your RV from a dealership, check with them to see if they have storage.

If you love to go out and see the country, you might want to consider getting an RV. If you do that, you will need to figure out storage for it when you aren't using it. For more information about RV storage, contact a local storage facility.
