Frequently Asked Questions

  How long are the classes?

Music classes are 45 minutes long. Each session is 10-weeks long, except for the December Mini-Session, which is 3-weeks long, and short Summer sessions which are 5-weeks long.

  How often do classes meet?

All of our classes meet once a week. Children are enrolled in a specific class day and time that meets each week.

  How big are the classes?

Class size is limited to 12 for registered students. Class size varies week to week depending on attendance of enrolled children, number of students taking make-up classes and guests.

Classes with less than 4 students are subject to cancellation.

What if I miss a class?

We have a very liberal make-up policy to encourage people to make the most of their class enrollment. Please remember these guidelines when considering a make-up class:

  • Make-up classes should be used only when absolutely necessary, not just for convenience. Consistency is very important for your child’s success and you should make every effort to attend your regularly scheduled class each week.
  • You must call to schedule a make-up class in advance. Since our classes are usually full, make-ups are scheduled on a space-available basis and need to be reserved to prevent conflicts and over-booking.
  • All classes need to be made up within the 10-week session your are enrolled. If you re-enroll in the subsequent session, you may carry over up to 2 make-up classes.
  • Please make every effort to make up missed classes within 2 weeks. Scheduling becomes very difficult if everyone waits until the last week of classes to get in all their make-ups!

  How much does it cost?

Our basic class tuition fees are $139.00. This includes all take home music materials and in-class art materials. Please see our Tuition page for information sibling discounts, multiple class discounts, and enrollment specials.

Do I have to be a member of the YMCA?

No. All of our classes are open to the public. However, if you are a member of the YMCA, you do get an additional discount of $15.00 off enrollment for the first child. Discounts are also available for military families.

Are there any scholarship opportunities available?

Yes. We do have a limited number of full and partial scholarships available. Please contact Romp-N-Roll by calling 503.390.7529 for more information. We are also an approved vendor of DHS and funding is available for certain children through their DHS counselor.

Can I try a class before I decide to register?

Absolutely! We encourage you to try a free preview class before enrolling in class. We want you to be confident that you are making the right choice for you and your child! Preview classes are scheduled by appointment only, so be sure to call first!
